RFK School Reopening

Monday October 26th, 2020 with Group C

As per the NYCDOE guidance this morning, our school will reopen starting Monday, October 26th. We will continue with in person learning with Group C. Please continue to monitor our school website for pertinent information as well as the calendar viewed below, which has been updated with Group A, B and C dates for the remainder of the month of October and the month of November.

If your child as an in-person blended student, please make sure that they come to school with the COVID-testing consent already completed online in your NYC Student Account, filled out and submitted through Google Classroom, or on paper when they return. Random COVID testing in schools will begin imminently. If you do not give consent, your child will become a remote learner in order to ensure the safety of our community.

Once again, the easiest way to give consent is online at through the NYC Student Account, because you will not need to fill out anything on paper. If you do not have an account and need a registration code, please email our parent coordinator, Ms. Ajax, with your child's name, OSIS/ID number and the best contact number to reach you.

In addition, please ensure that your child completes the NYC Health Screening questions before entering the building on Monday.

Thank you and we look forward to welcoming your children back to school on Monday.

NYC schools account

Dear RFK Parents and Guardians,

I hope you are enjoying your summer and are staying safe. As we look to September, we are in the process of planning for the 2020-2021 school year. I recently wrote to you about your child's options for learning this fall.

You will have the option of sending your child to school following a hybrid model (some in school and some remote), or opting for full time remote learning from home.

If you choose the hybrid model (i.e. to send your child to school), he or she will be in school one to two times per week, and working remotely from home on the days he or she is not in school. There will be three groups of students (A,B,C), with one group attending on their scheduled day. Please see the chart below to see how the schedule will work. This schedule is subject to change based on unanticipated circumstances.

You should have also received and filled out the NYC DOE survey telling them if you prefer to have your child utilize remote learning this fall. This is the official survey and MUST be filled out in order for your choice to be recorded properly.
